Has anyone re-done their bumpers in a matte or sating finish instead of the factory bright chrome?

I will be doing a sand damage claim on my trucks for a storm we had and I am looking at options for a repaint. I most likely will keep the truck white, but I am considering a color change, just depends on the cost difference. I saw a corvette years ago, a white C5 that had all the trim and stuff done in satin nickel instead of chrome.

Just wondering if it would look ok or too weird.

 

I did my 70 1/2 Z28 bumpers in nickle and brushed them and it looked kick ***!
