Replacing AC control panel
#1
Hey guys, I'm new on the board. AC control panel in my 2001 silverado starting having LED's go out. Found a complete identical replacement via ebay. Is this a straight unplug old/plug in new or is there more to it(i.e. unplug battery, do rain dance, etc.)?

Its a direct replacement. I looked it up as to how gm says to replace it and it says after replacing the module to remove the HVAC fuse for 60 seconds to allow enough time to clear old calibration values. Ive never done this but now that ive seen, I might start!!

I have the same problem in my 02. The left LED lights burned out, so I have only the right LEDs working. It's annoying but, I don't want to pay a bill to fix the problem. Everything else works fine.

UGH, the AC panel I bought from an ebay salvage yard had all the bottom buttons' white LED's out (orange ones still worked). Guess I will use the ebay'd panel for the experiment in changing the LED's individually. These lites suddenly feel alot less important.

I noticed this morning that my a/c wouldnt cut off even by unplugging the low pressure s/w. When I replaced my ac control ( leds burnt out) it was in the winter so I never noticed the a/c. I pulled the HVAC fuse for 60 seconds , and wha-la it cut on and off with the button!! guess I will definatly start doing this every time I replace one.
