Default Window Tinting

Ok, I just got my 2 front driver/passenger windows tinted at mobile audio for 60 bucks, and they said they would make them as dark as it was legal (35% i believe). So I get my truck back and it's darker than normal, but I know I've seen much darker tint on the streets on a daily basis...my question is how do they get away with it without getting a ticket, and where can you get it done?

Yeah it al depends on the law around where you are. I had tint that measured 3.2% on the side and 5 % on the back on my old nissan and had it for 2 years and no probs with the law. On my truck now ive got 20% to match the factory tint and no probs. The place that tinted them didnt give me a receipt since it wasnt legal.

Tint tickets vary by state and yes the tint definately comes off...most ammonia based cleaners dissolve the tint film adhesive.

most of the cops here normally don't write tickets for tint, but if they do they just tell you to pull it off and they will drop the ticket

I've got probably 15% on the fronts, factory dark on the rear, and 5% on the windshield (eyebrow). My tint is pretty dark, you can't see the inside. I've had it for 2 years and no problems. My eyebrow on the windshield extends way below the legal mark. It looks great on my black truck.
