Default Removing side moldings

The clear or whatever is starting to peel on my side moldings. How do I just take them off.

I think if you do a search you can find all the info you need. Try the show and shine section.

How long do you have to heat it up with a heat gun before you can go tugging on it?

When I removed my mouldings, I used some braided nylon fishing line to get behind the mouldings and saw through the double sided tape holding them on. Then I rubbed off the remainder of the tape and cleaned up the adhesive residue with lacquer thinner.

I did not use a heat gun. I took mine off in the summer and the heat from the sun was enough.

Yeah but its the middle of winter here and I'm having the truck polished and waxed tomorrow so I thought now would be a good time to do it.

I'll use the heat gun on them then I'll use the fishing line.

guitar string and bondo applicators work well also. Don't get crazy hot with the heat gun either, if it's to hot to touch with you hand then you got it to hot. Take your time to prevent damage to the paint.
