Default Removing The Hood Liner?

hey i have a 2000 silverado and my hood liner is starting to look terrible! whats my options? can i remove the old one? or will mess up the paint from the heat?

good question, I'm wondering the same thing since mine was damaged from backfire.

on my o3 i hurt mine with a back fire. i took it off. i ran several diferent turbo set ups on that truck and the hood got very hot at times with no paint damage.

ive never had a liner on my truck...i think its just there for sound deadening.

Ran several cowl hoods on different vehicles with no liner, and never any paint damage
