Question Read This!!!!! No Way!!

I live in The Woodlands, TX...right outside Houston. I live in a apartment and have a garage that I ALWAYS put my truck in. Last night I let me girl park in my garage because I was being lazy and left my truck on the curb right outside my porch. Wake up this morning and KEYED.....BAD! Hood, front fenders, doors, tailgate, and right side of bed. My hood reads......"*******" and my girl way at my house last night so go figure. I do my own thing from time to time and have a idea of who it was but WTF do I do? Can I claim it on insurance or do I just fix it myself? The hood and doors are deep.....any input?

I know but I talked to a friend that owns a paint shop this morning and he said Progressive will send a adjuster out to look at it and make their own quote. Seems to me like I am going to be out some major cash. I really appreciate the crazy bitch that did this.....seriously...a car is worth alot of money and I work hard as **** for it and it really upsets me I even have to call the insurance company. I have a $500 deductible but I know I will end up getting screwed somehow.

doesnt matter how much the quote is for, you pay $500 and thats it... even if there quote is lower than what the body shop quotes you at they still HAVE to cover it... like it says in my thread, DONT let them get the best of you dude

Ok well I know from painting experience and being around this stuff for so long that my hood, doors, tailgate, front fenders and one side of my bed has to be painted...most of them are down to metal....its bad. My painter friend said he has seen a similar case where the person got liek $1100 from the insurance to paint the whole truck....that sucks. I never wish anything bad upon anyone but I think I do now.

If I throw a fit wont they drop me? Right after the first of the year my wheels got stolen and they already had to pay for that so they are probably fed up with me..

My daughter took a rock and went to town on a friends car that was parked in my driveway. Instead of having to pay out of pocket, I submitted it under my homeowner's policy ($2300). My auto insurance never saw it.

Do you have renter's insurance? May want to look into that as an option. just state the truck was parked off the street and file a police report that way.

Find the girl that did it and have feel free to release your "artistic impression" on her car or just sue her. I guess girls hear that stupid country song that girl sings about digging her keys into the side of her boyfriends truck, and now it seems alright to do that.

Dude, that's what insurance is for. If you make a lot of claims they will start to increase your rates, but they won't drop you because they're fed up with you. I actually think that they can't increase your rates with only comprehensive claims anyway, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

Mine got keyed too, and I just paid the comprehensive deductible on mine since it wasn't an accident, which was $250 (regular deductible is $500). Mine was only on the passenger side of the truck, but the total bill was $1200.
