Right, but believe it or not a key'd truck is considered a collision! I just went thru this with my ins. co. and I managed to sweet talk them into making my claim a comprehensive ($100 deduct) by calling a few different adjusters and getting one to say the magic words BEFORE i actually filed a claim!

DONT MAKE THE CLAIM!! This chic backed into a 97 SS that I had because she was stoned out of her brain and it did $1673.00 worth of damage. I filed it on my car insurance (Travelers Life, Home & Auto) at the time. I paid $500 for the deductable and got it fixed. Even talked to the adjuster about whether or not to make the claim, he said "Thats what insurance is for" so I did and within 1 month I was dropped because I was considered a liability.
If you know who done it and can prove it then report it to the Police as vandalism to private property. They will make a report and then take that someone to court and sue them for the damage and then some. Doesnt matter who done it, that is not right and they should pay for all of it.
At any rate, if you have the cash then pay for it out of your pocket and save the long term insurance premiums increase. It sucks but in the long run you save money. Put it on an American Express card and get the points for a trip to Cancun or the Bahammas!
If none of this works then go over to their house and cave their f_ckin head in!!
What maggott dick mother f_cker does that kind of ****?
Best of luck bro!

It wasn't in my case. Must depend on the insurance company. I didn't have a single issue with my insurance company covering it under comprehensive. Also, just a couple months before that someone coming the other way in a construction zone hit a plastic k-rail and knocked it into my truck. They had to replace the entire driver's side bedside, and that was covered under comprehensive as well because it was considered road debris that was in motion.

Again, I have a feeling that this depends on the insurance company. Did you have any other claims against your policy? That sounds pretty unreasonable to me.

In all honesty though, the claim should have been made through her insurance, unless she either didn't have any or ran from the scene. In that case if you had an uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage you should have been fine.

Man, that's just pathetic. I just don't understand why or how someone could do that. I've been pretty hacked at some people once or twice, but I couldn't bring myself to do something like that. That's just childish and cheap. I guess if it was a woman I can see why....that was the only way to mess with ya'...Damn Carrie Underwood and her music!!! That stupid song just gives women ideas.........I really feel sorry for you man, hope it all gets worked out for the best though.

Proof that women are crazy, and that maybe you shouldn't "Do your own thing from time to time". Everything has a price....
