project: Side Exhaust
#1
A while back i ran a pylon cone over and it took a sizeable chunk of my bed off ?! right before the fender well. i finaly decided to bore the hole out and put side exhaust there. turning a negitave into a positive.
so as it stands i made a Y collector and using the 2 legs for tips. its made from 2.5 exhaust tubing and i mig welded it together (i wanted to tig it, but i only have like 1.5 hrs of practice time invested so
) the entire piece came out superb! the pictures that i took were poor, so il just take some better ones tomarrow.
the game plan is to have them angled and trimed in such a way where it goes with the body line (obviously) and have it sticking out 1/4 "... so far things have been going flawlessly ... knock on wood. my goal is to have it completed friday evening so i can go prowling.

yes, they will come
but first sona itch... i go to remove the stock catback and 1 of the 2 bolts gets tight and i knew whats next.. no choice but to but some mustard behind it and twist it off... no biggie, il just use one for now and get a bolt and nut combo. thats fine and all since the 2nd bolt came off smoother than a babys butt. so im nearly finished, but i needed to take the piping off so i could bend one pipe upwards a few hairs.. i proceed to remove the only bolt holding the cat back on, and the bolt that went on so easy freggin snapped off. oh well, looks like i will be using 2 nut and bolt combos.. this was a sign to give up for tonight so im going to finish up tomarow
i also never looked too far into this new hold i bored out... there is a leaf spring there. no biggie, il just use my master fabricator skillz and notch the tubing in sucha way that it clears
side note: no cat back sounds poor/bad.. like something important is missing (figure of speach on that one)
till then,
