Cool Pics of the new motor!!!

Before...

After:

I don't have the K&N FIPK II on there yet, I'm still working on that and don't think the results are going to be too great.

Well, she looks good now, we'll see how easy she is to maintain.

What problems are you anticipating with the K&N FIPK?

I was running it with the BBK on the 5.3l. No major fitment problems on this end. About the only thing I had an issue with was when I upgraded to the 6.0l radiator about 2 years ago. For some reason I have to squeeze the shield in there and move the coolant tank a bit.

It started to rust up a bit, especially around the edges and thru holes, so I cleaned her up and painted her. Well, the Duplicolor Vicory Red seems to pool up/fill in the seams. I was kind of in a hurry to do this since this was the last portion to make her road worthy and wanted to run her tonight.

In the end, the painting didn't turn out too bad, better than I expected but not perfect. So that kind of ruined the night here.

Nice and clean. So you don't like the Vortec cover... then get an LSX intake like Greg mentioned

Looks good, but the real question is how does it run.
