I think it would look good painted.I painted mine,Cleaned with wax and grease remover.A friend of mine is a body man, gave me a product called"bond aid",It was in a spray can.You spray it on,when it tacks up paint than clear, done.I went to a paint supply place and they mixed my paint color and put it into a spray can.Been done for about 2 years still looks good.

I say Paint it! It would look good and it would match your top painted bumper pad.
The key to getting a good paint job is the prep work, get some quotes, it might be cheaper if a shop does the prep and paint work.
Think about how much it would cost you for the supplies and weigh that against the price of a shop doing it for you. Sometimes it is better to get it done right the first time or it will cost you more $ fixing it the second time around. Just my 2 cent's.

just don't sand it. it will take out the texture of the plastic. just clean it really well like blue'03 said. then you want a good adheisive promotor (didn't spell that right) to help the paint stick to the plastic or it will chip off.

No doubt! do it it looks great I just did it to my truck in black with new Krylon Fusion spray paint for plastics, it chemically bonds to the plastic after a little cleaning prep work check out my page at car domain under my profile.
