What about leaving the chrome, and painting the lower black valence instead? I know there are a few members on here that have done this. Just a thought. I have painted a bunch of stuff on my truck, but never chrome.

I didn't even bother having the bumper painted. Looks like too much hassle.

i sanded mine myself.....i was one of the worst things ive ever done too lmao, took me the whole day of hard sanding to get the top bumper cap and lower valence and little side thngs on the grill completely smooth...i now hate sanding with a passion

but i didnt paint them myself. i had a body shop do it...im not the best with a rattlecan haha

Iv been wanting to paint my whole front end. including the chrome bumper too. i guess i should start on the valence first. is the valence hard to paint yourself? is it something you can paint with a can and get a quality look???

you can paint the valances with rattlecan, prep is the key, i seen rattlecan jobs look professional. as far as painting chrome, pm stangkilr, he painted the rear of his nnbs truck rattlecanned, im just going to buy a paintable front bumper. makes it way easier. F sanding

I think im going to look for a WT front bumber see what i can find.

If i find one cheap ill snag it up and paint but if not i may go with just painting the valance. A little bit of chrome wolnt hurt. Right? lol

If you don't find a WT bumper, have the bottom done like you are saying.. It will look just as good, IMO. There can be a such thing as a lil too much red, know??
