Did I just find my support group? Did some blasting. I’ll post up some info about it when I get home.

Thank you Red oh how I appreciate you so

Okay learned a few things!

1. First of all sandblasting is fun!
2. Those wheels were painted much better than I thought lol, There is more coats than I thought
3. So I did an XL Soda media which is recommended for stripping paint. I think I certainly could have stepped up to Walnut or something more abrasive. Not a big deal though
4. It is extremely messy, driveway looks like it snowed

I ended up just doing the rim of the wheel down to the bare aluminum. This is from last night

This morning I purchased the necessary gear to do some paint stripping and holy **** does this stuff SUCK! Why could I not have been born in the 80s where chemicals were much harsher and **** actually worked? Stripping it would take the same amount of time as sanding it by hand and then I would have to still go back and sand because stripping wouldn't take everything out of the nooks and crannies. My probable plan now is to take it to get blasted somewhere with some more abrasive **** and then come home and sand and polish. That's what I'm looking at now. So wheels are back off for the next few weeks until I can figure out what I want to do. Also Wretched you jinxed me ******!

Should have just bought some polished wheels in the first place.

I actually did look, these were the only declads I could find. At this rate though I should have just bought some snowflake take offs.

I am slightly kicking myself for going down this road. I like the declads I think they look sick but I should have known better I guess. Now I’m in too deep and probably can’t even sell them on

1. I hope you are kidding it's by far the worst job in the body shop.
2. More than one Screech Powers per decade is overkill (RIP Dustin Diamond).

Were you using a pressurized sandblaster or siphon type?
The siphon blasters are air hogs draining the compressor quickly and are very slow at stripping paint.

Pressurized sandblaster

Siphon type

Sandblasting is fun to me, I like watching all the particles bounce off and strip the stuff down. It is cool in a tard way I guess. Also siphon type but I have a 25 gallon compressor so it is a bit less tedious.

I have never heard of Screech Powers, you have an inordinate amount of pop cultural knowledge. Especially with that “Just be legends” thing from fyre festival haha. I did look him up though that is sad to hear.
