Edit: Scratch what I just said. I have seen people ceramic coat but the problem that I see the most is that the wheels are too hot for the coating.

Double edit: This seems to be especially true for polished wheels since the coating does not have a whole lot to stick to.

You absolutely do not want to leave them raw. They get nasty super super fast. You'll spend all your free time cleaning them.

I have some time to figure it out. I know they get disgusting quick. I was thinking about trying out some Meguiars NXT tech wax 2.0 as I have heard some good things about it but some bad too. Or the mirror glaze they offer, can't remember which one off the top of my head. Chemical Guys offers a ceramic coating called HydroSlick? I have not tried that out but I'd be willing to try it out for this. I have some CG products and I think they are alright, their soap is my favorite. Meguiars does have a ceramic thing G200416, wayyyy cheaper than CG so that one would be the first I would try.

Sorry thought we were speaking mainly long term that is why I brushed off Ceramic coating. Yes to ceramic coating for a short term coating.

Quick update. I attempted to do some sanding last night and they looked pretty much the same afterwards. I did a 1500 grit based on recommendation from the blaster as well as from what I have read online. I am going to wash them tonight or tomorrow and then use the white diamond bar to polish a small discreet area to see if maybe they will start shining.

For all you doubters out there you may soon rejoice. The more I look at the wheels in raw aluminum the way they are now, the more I kind of actually like them... I plan on taking them to get balanced again and I am going to drive around with the wheels in that color for a week or so. Maybe I will regret it who knows but it is growing on me. If I do in fact leave them raw aluminum I will coat them with something so they don't get destroyed within 6 months lol

I haven't decided yet though. I am currently in a state of analysis paralysis.

Find out how much it would cost to have someone polish them. Polishing alum is horrible, as you have found out.

I haven’t even tried it yet to be fair. I just almost like the raw look just as much.
