whats a decent price to have my factory mirrors prepped and painted?

When I was considering do that they wanted 70 or so bucks to do the job with me taking them off.

i took the truck to the shop today and already had the mirrors off, but when i asked about painting them he guaranteed they would start chipping. guess ill get some ss paintable mirrors

Not if they are sanded down properly and the right process to paint them is used they are the same plastic as everything else on our truck that can be painted I dont see why they would chip if properly painted right.

they shouldnt chip if theyre prepped and painted correctly. I painted all teh chrome on my truck, grill, bumpers, and mirrors and they never chipped. the grill and the front bumper has small rock chips but thats normal.

I agree; I bought replacement mirrors with the 'chrome' insert specifically to have the black plastic body painted red. I traded the guy a set of Eagle wheels to paint the mirrors, the front bumper cap, and the molding. As Rob said, the bumper cap has some small rock chips but the mirrors look new.

As said above, if painted properly, the paint shouldn't chip at all. Average price to have the mirrors painted is probably around $75. If they want $100 or more tell them no way.

I would say that 100 or so is the magic number, but no more than that

THey need to use an adhesion promoter and they will not chip... Mine are done that way and my bumper cap. So do it looks nice that way.
