Painted bumper section?
#1
I was wondering, alot of people seem to have their bumper sections above the chrome painted. Does someone sell them painted or are you having the texture sanded down and painted. This mod really sets off the front end. And while I'm at it how about the textured plastic section around the grill? Painted or aftermarket?

i would just get the tahoe or suburban grille for it is fully chrome unless you don't like chrome and the best way for the bumper is just go around to local paint shops and get some quotes. Good luck

I got my bumper and airdam painted at the same time from a local bodyshop. I couldnt give you an estimate on the price because I was getting some other things done at the same time. I do agree it really sets off the front end a lot! Either buy a smooth paintable bumper or make sure the shop really sands it down good before painting. If some "orange peel" does remain, a layer of clearcoat should take it out. Good luck!

Hey TGO,
I have had mine done. The first time I painted my factory grille shell, top cap,and bottom valance. It lasted about 3 years.I just got it back from the paint shop sunday. This time I ordered a top bumper pad for a Tahoe LT that is already slick ready to paint for $75.I also painted everything except the billet bowtie and billet grille insert.I welded the licese plate holes up and painted the chrome bumper and the chrome strip in the grille.Itlooks awesome.I like it alot better than I had it.If I knew how to post pics I would.
Thanks,
Mike

i think the tahoe grille is around 350-400. I had one put on about two years agoa so i really don't remember all to well. As for the "orange peal" the proper way to get rid of it is with color sanding with 1000-2000 grit sand paper and then buffing it with some rubbing compound not just putting another coat of clear.
