Default Orange Peel?

Anyone that has colour matched interior peices know how to get rid of the orange peal texture that shows up after you primed and did a first layer of paint? Do I have to sand it all back down to the plastic and do more sanding?

when I went to Chevy about that they told me to sand it pretty good, prime it get some finer sand paper prime it again and then get somethin like 1k grit and sand it one last time, prime it and paint it. That was for door handles, tail gate revrie and the fin on the top of the gate. I dont know exactly what ur trying to paint but it sounds like its a plastic piece ur working on so it should be the same process.

you should wet sand the primer before you paint it....and the paint before you clear, and the clear when you are done.

How bad is the orange peel? If it's too severe you may want to start over and sand down more of the texture in the plastic, then use filler primer to fill in the remaining texture. Sand the primer with 600 grit, spray some color, lightly wet sand between each coat, yada yada.

I would just sand the clear and re clear it. it always comes out smoother after the second clear. if its still to much orange peel, sand it out and polish it
