Default No Moldings!

I finally got around to pulling the moldings off. With it being about 80+ degrees outside it pulled right off once I got it started. No heat gun, hair dryer, or even sore fingers for me. After rolling the tape off it cleaned right up with some instant detailer.

The previous owner had also installed some pinstripping and SS fender decals. I decided to pull those off and it turned out to be harder than the moldings. There is still a little residue left from the decals and pinstripping, anyone know what might take it off?

The only thing left now is the badges, I'll tackle those sooner or later. I hear they are the hardest part.

Clay bar should take off the residue left from those pimp pin stripes...

theres some stuff called "formula 19" that works REAL GOOD. it removes your wax and stuff, but it'll take off road paint, tar, burnout rubber, etc. It's really strong.

Thanks for all the great ideas, I will have to try one of them. I never thought taking the molding off would make such a tremendous difference, it looks like a totally different truck.

3m adhesive remover is good stuff, to take off the badges, i used a little heat and pulled a piece of fishing line through the back works real good. GOOD LUCK!!

To get it started I just used a little dental floss to get under the edges and sawed it a little. Once I got it loose enough to get my finger under, I just pulled and it popped right off.

I will try to get before and after pics up tomorrow, if it isn't raining.

i am going to be doing this soon.....on a 2000 model should the moldings/badges be stuck on there pretty good, and be kind of a pain to get out. whats the best approach....sunlight, heat gun/blow dryer, and sore fingertips??
