Just thought some of you would like to know that one of our distributors now supplies devices that allow the integration of IPod, Aux Inputs for satalite radio, laptops, universal changers etc.

In short you can run a factory deck (or aftermarket) and add a universal 10disc CD Changer (plays MP3 format too). $260 or so

IPod adapter $180 or so

Aux Input adapter $100 or so (hook up just about anything, MP3 players, Laptops, etc)

I also believe Sirius is coming out with a unit similar to the XM Delphi MyFi unit which is a portable satalite radio reciever.

i was just thinking of something like that the other day. i got a 512 mb memory stick for xmas and i store alot of songs on it. and i thought it would be cool if the DIN style aftermarket stereos had USB hook up in order to play MP3.

is something out there like that?

As long as what you wanna hook up has a decent output you should be able to hook it up. Obviously sound quality can vary depending on the output voltage and clarity of the signal coming out of your chosen device. IE: A laptops volume must be set kind of high to get any decent volume out of your car stereo.

As for aftermakret stereos accepting data cards. Eclipse uses a memory stick but it is rather small. I keep forgetting to see if the stick they come with can be replaced for something larger. If so then you can simply download WMA files onto a larger stick and play it directly off that. Otheriwse right now MP3 discs are your friend. LOL Might wanna check out some of the new Sony decks also since Sony is big into memory sticks.

 

I have a sony palm pilot and I put songs on my memory disk. What i did was buy a reciever that plugs into the audio jackets of the palm pilot and transmits and FM signal to the radio. It works pretty well. I will try to get a link or a pic of that.

Do you have the stock headunit/radio? I have a Pioneer Premier CD player and it doesn't say anything in the instruction .pdf file about that, unless I missed it
Hey F8L, do you know of any gagets that allow iPod hook up to Pioneer headunits and also let you control the iPod from the headunit?

 

yeah i have the stock head unit in my SS...no XM either...but it has the Bose system...

i think if you have a different head unit there might be better solutions...such as an auxillary hook up in the back for RCA's maybe. which pioneer head unit do you have???
