Default Lowering the truck

How hard is it to replace the stock hanger with the 2" lowering hanger? Also, can I just buy the hanger without the shackles since I have them already? Thanks!

Yes, you can buy just the hangers. With the right tools, good drill bit and an air chisle, they are not that hard to change out. Getting the stock rivits out is the most difficult part.

I've heard you have to drop the gas tank. Do you?
BigKID- I see you have a new best. Congrats! Seems you got the bugs out, what does it run on motor?

I just loosened mine up and pushed it over a little to get at the bolts. Take a cutoff whel and put a slice through the rivit heads and the air chissel will take them right off.

Unfortunately I could only muster a 13.80@97 on motor.

I just finished my lowering kit install last week. I ground off all the rivits on the hangers except one on each side i couldn't get to with the grinder, for those i used an air chisel. It's not too hard with the right tools. Like AllWhite said, just loosen the tank up and slide it over a little bit. I did the gas tank side first, cause it's the harder side, so when you get to the other side it seems really easy.

Blow torch and be carful!!!. Well, that's how mine were done, but I recommend they way stated above. You don't have to move the gas tank.
