Default Lowering shackles

How do you take the bolts out of the rear spring hanger to install the lowering shackle?This is for a Silverado

Is it a stepside or fleet side? I had not problems with mine but some with stepsides have had to loosen the gas tank to get clearance to pull the drivers' side out.

you need to put the frame on jack stands. then take the bottom bolts out of the shackles. now jack the axle up and the spring eyes and the shackle will touch the bottom of the bed's floor. then you will be able to slide the bolt out between the bed floor and the frame rail.then reverse the process to install the new ones.

Pretty much do what sleeper said, but on a stepside, you will have to take the last 2 bolts on the bed out and raise the bed slightly. It really isn't as bad as it sounds. Takes about 3 minutes to do each side and it won't mess up the bed alignment.
