hello. i am looking to get a black painted tailgate handel and was wondering if any of you knew a part # for the bezel and handel? I would really like to have a smooth one and not textured. but it doesnt matter. I can start with a painted textured if needed.

I have done the handle upgrade to the "SS painted handles" on both of my Black trucks.

No need in getting the tailgate handle, all that comes painted is the handle and it costs about $50, you might as well sand your stock and have it painted.
You shouldn't pay much more than $20-30 for each painted door handle.
and $20 for the painted Tailgate bezel.

That is 5-10% over GM dealer cost. If your dealers suck in your area than road trip.

 

sweet. thx for the link. i used my escalade door handels from my 02 silverado and using them on the 04. filled in the hole. but i went ahead and ordered the rear right door of the crew cab to get the correct one. i always wanted to get my tailgate handel painted.

thx once again for taking the time to post the link. ill probably just do what u said and just sand them down and have them painted.

edit: i did find the part #'s that i needed off that thread. I also found 15077439 - EXT Chrome Tailgate Handel. going to call the dealership tomorrow and see if they have them and the cost and to see if that chrome handel is the one i want.

 

I just got one from my local Chevy/Gmc parts dept. but this part # is just for the bezel only (in factory painted black) I am sure they can find you the handle to go along with it by cross checking the number, anyway the part # is 15187998 Hope that helps. I only bought the bezel because I installed a Chrome cover to go over handle to match my front door escalade handles

Edit: i called a couple places. only Henna had them. so i went ahead and purchased the black Bezel and Handel.
