Just a little rant

I've noticed more and more people spending all kinds of money on wheels and tires just to take them off a month later for some hagrid stock 16's. Why would you spend all of the money for rims just to get rid of them for stock? You all know that putting bigger wheels on will make your truck slower but look a hell of a lot better.
Not being a dick, I just don't see the point of shelling out $2000 for some nice wheels then getting rid of them for some stock escalade or denali wheels that nobody will know aren't stock. And for all of the guys that reply with comments on those trucks that say, "the truck looks so much better" "it looks great". I hate to tell you but the truck looks stock. Yea, your truck might look nice but it looks stock. this is the show and shine section, not the "look at my stock truck".

i see where you are coming from but it seems to me like in the performance truck scene alot of guys are going more for the performance aspect lately and the muscle truck look.
in my case, when i bought my truck it came with the 20s, so i didnt spend a dime on them, the wheels didnt affect my buying decision either. and i didnt really like them to start with. i got the escalade 17s because i work construction and needed some A/T tires.

I can see where your coming from, but to each his own right? I can attest, I wish I had kept my stock rims so I can put them on during the winter, trying to keep these 20's shiny is a biyatch!

I don't understand how you people can shell out 2,000 bucks for wheels. That is a hell of a start to an engine or trans upgrade. I guess if I had money to burn and didn't want anything porformance, which I don't see happening. though I'd like to have some cool looking wheels..... I guess I just need more money..

I also see where your coming from, but who cares if other people dont know its not stock or is stock, as long as the owner is happy with them. Me personally Id rather have stock rims then some fancy rims that are worth about 25% of my truck value, I dunno I just never really liked fancy big rims to begine with

peopel change direction alot, and the less creative the person, the moee the wheels change. Its an easy bolt on that can COMPLETEY change the appreance, I can see why they do it. Maybe there all jsut ballers?

Precisely the reasons I have not made the plunge yet. Beleive me the urge is there, aftermarket rims really set off a truck but do little or nothing for performance.
Maybe a change to 17-18" rims gets you more rubber choices and may net some better traction but why blow it on that until your truck is a beast under the hood first? Again to each his own is what I beleive too.
