Ok, now that I got your attention please look at the pic I attached to this thread. I want to know why all ford trucks come with this nice piece of plastic at the bottom of the truck box and not GM's . This piece of molded textured plastic would save our trucks from so many rock chips and make cleaning burned rubber up and tar so much easier. Not to mention up here in MN where keeping sand and salt off your paint will make your vehicle last so much longer. Since GM doesn't offer this as standard like ford does, does anyone knnow of a perfectly molded aftermarket piece of plastic that would form to our bodies that we could put on our trucks? I would apply something like this all the way from the front to the rear of the truck. Grey or not, it's so low no one would see it. All you'd have to do is spray it with a vinyl dye if one were to be so picky. I would or could see something like this selling like hot cakes. I already have the stepguards on my rockers to protect from people to lazy to lift up their feet to get into my truck.

i dont' know of any company's that make plastic to fit but there is some clear **** you can put on there. it's like a sticket but you can wax it and what not. it helps save you from rock chips and stuff like that. and it doesn't detract from the look of the vehicle.

I'm not sure if this is exactly what you're after, but I put some clear Trimbrite protection on my Toyota Tacoma rocker panels and it saved them from countless rock chips. I used the "wet" method of application and it was fairly easy. You could barely tell they were there after application.

You can get the Trimbrite protection strips from Cabelas.

Here's another option.

Right, I like the idea of the thicker stuff http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/te...412&hasJS=true like here because rocks can't penetrate it. Something though like 3m tape or the thinner stuff I can see rocks penetrating it at 60MPH or so.

Rhino line it. Seen plenty of vehicles that have the rocker panels front to back Rhino lined, can even match most paint.

Ask your local body shop about Rock Guard. Had it done to my Toyota.
Clear and Hard as Wood Pecker lips Cost about $100-$200

Some co-workers of mine were talking about this after seeing a truck with it done last week, and they said it looked horrible.

I had an older 4x4 ranger I used to go wheelin in and I masked it off bed and the under side, sanded em down and sprayed on some bed liner for 8 bucks a can at autozone worked great and wasnt very thick so there was no lip where the paint started and liner ended
