With the Zaino bar you wash the truck with dawn first to get all the polish/wax off. Then you get a spray bottle and fill it with soapy water, and spray it continually while you rub the claybar over the paint. The soapy water lubricates the bar to slide over the surface to pick up debri while not leaving any clay behind. Then after youre done clay barring, you wash the whole truck off again with regular carwash soap, then you polish/wax.
Worked well for me - especially getting the lovebug guts off

Wash the truck thoroughly and dry it. Of all the clay bar kits I've bought, they come with this detailer spray bottle to lubricate your vehicle so you can rub the claybar on it. But a bottle of water with some baby shampoo will work fine as well.
I've always moved the claybar either up/down or side to side, don't do circles or just go crazy.
When you're done, wash the truck again and then polish and wax it.
It looks awesome and feels nice and smooth to the touch.
One thing, I've always used dish soap to remove all the old wax, etc. on the truck but I read in some magazine, or maybe it was on Trucks that using dish soap is harsh and actually is damaging to your clear coat and that regular car wash soap is enough to remove the old wax, etc. Anybody know about this?

Clay bars usually strips the old wax off and gets all that harsh contaminents out of your paint like rail dust(looks like rust spots, very visable on white paint).
You definately want to put a good heavy coat of wax after clay-barring!!

i thought there was a special auto wash that strips old wax off your paint? 3M brand maybe?
here is a pic of what wash, polish and wax looks like. keep in mind, it is white so it doesn't have the depth that a darker color will have

Premium car wash soap will not remove wax. That's the idea... you can wax the vehicle, then you just have to QD it when you wash and it looks like you just waxed again.
A 50/50 mix of isopropanol alcohol and water will remove polishes and waxes (and is safe).
Polish or Cleaner Wax *should* remove the old wax.
If you don't want to use the Quick Detailer spray with the clay, a mix of car wash soap and water is a much cheaper and effective lubricant.
