Default Highs and Lows on at same time

Has anyone had any problems with the splice trick that was posted awhile back to keep all your lights on at high beam? I was going to do the mod but thought I should check and see if any problems have come up?

on your low beam lights cut the yellow wire, and take the one coming fromthe light to a grounding point on the truck, then just tape off the wire going to the relay. do this to both sides, then when you turn your brights on both sets are on.
from the factory the yellow wire becomes positive, and kills the light, when you do this mod it completes the circuit. one 12v wire seriesed through the lights to a grounding point.

Or you can buy the little box for like 10 bucks that splices into the wires and you dont have to change anything...

Im not sure if it was this mod but I remember seeing somewhere problems with a setup like that cause the wires are so thin or something like that...

I have got the mod for the highs and lows, but here's my question, is there anyway that you can keep your fog lights on too when you highs come on. Any information would be helpful.

I bought the little box from Summit racing for around $19. Works fine and no wire splicing.
