I paid 10, I got it from a member that bought it and never used it. Id rather pay the 10 bucks and not think about it, or 20 for that matter.

If you look at the kit the wires on it are about twice as thick. Im not saying its better.. im just saying I remember reading somewhere about the wires maybe being too thin... but now that I think about it .. it could have been that mod that makes your headlights brighter...

They also sell another setup for the foglights....

the wires are not going to heat up. if that was going to be a problem than the size that was used would have been upgraded. all you are doing is taking the low beam lamp to ground. which completes the circuit. just in a diffrent way then GM intended
I think Macadayear is thinking about the headlight brightening mod. and yes that mod would cause the wires to get hot and burn intwo, because you are raising the amperage of the lamp, thus creating heat, which causes the wire to melt intwo.

Thx for the tip!

I been fighting the stupid Street Scene adapter for a couple week snow just cause the instructions were for older trucks. I was going to finish it today after talking the SS but after reading this I am just gonna sell this simple relay to someone.

It took me about 5min to do the mod listed above and it worked perfect the first time. We'll see how well it works long term. Thx guys!

Thanks a million guys, I just did this mod and so far its been working great. I wonder if the fog lights have the same set-up that when you turn your high beams the fog lights ground turns positive? Well thanks again and feel free to share any other free modds for all GMC & CHEVY cool trucks.

i am assuming the black is the ground wire. but there have been some occassions on boats that i work on where the white is the negative. i bet you didn't attach it to a good enough ground. i tried this once with my MP3 player. thought i had the wire attached to a really good ground, but the part i attached it too was not good for grounding. got it working after i found a better place to ground
