Default Help With Lowering Kit

I just bought an 01 silverado RCSB w/ 20's, its got what looks like a belltech lowering kit, but on the front the truck is resting on the bumpstops while sitting still. Whats the deal with that? wrong springs? I took it by a customizing shop and they suggested replacing the bump stops with smaller ones, the problem there is the truck allready sits as low as it can go without rubbing. thanks for any help.

I drop mine 2" I just cut the nubs off the stock bumpstops and now have a 3/4" opening, you don't want to ride on your stops

yeah i know i should'nt be on the stops, but i'm thinking it will drop down even further with the smaller stops, geuss i'll just have to pull them off and see.

forgot to add the truck has "ride control" from the factory, it will stiffen up all four shocks via a button on the dash, the problem is there either way, just thought i would add that.

Truck looks really familiar for some reason...

Why do you think its a belltech kit? Do you know what parts were used to lower it? What size tires you running?

Wow your truck is a mirror image, I just bought it so i really dont know for sure, but a guy at a custom shop said the emblems on the springs looked like belltech. tires are 275-45-r20. How much drop do you have and what kind?

I am running a DJM 4/6 drop with 245/40/20 tires. If it is just springs that lowered it, about 3" is as low as you can get in springs so it shouldn't go down much if any further.

Here are some smaller stops, I had a set but returned them did not need after cutting the stock one, but it will be a good fit for you

I would try putting the below stops right on the frame area.

Bump Stop Kit- Wedge type

item No: 4903BLT
Color/Finish: Urethane

Fits:
All Pickup Trucks

Description:
Bump Stops replace your large factory stops with a smaller low profile design. This helps by increasing suspension travel before your vehicle hits the bump stops and bottoms the suspension out.

Notes:
2 3/8" x 2" x 1 7/16" (they have shorter one's like a button type)

What's Included:
2 Bump Stops
Hardware

hope this helps

I lowered my truck with 2" belltech drop spindles. This put the truck on the bump stops like you. Others on the silveradoss site have a trick to help this problem. They drill holes in the 1st nub of the bump stop or trim it. I heard it's bad to trim it so I followed a topic from another member. That involved me drilling holes in the 1st and 2nd nub of the bump stop. this has helped quiet a bit in returning the drive back to normal. I drilled 6 holes in the 1st and 2nd nub. Works great so far. Anybody else on here try this?
