When I did the conversion, I didn't put the front plate holder on because I didn't want 2 big holes on my bumper. It should just pop off.
Lazy ***, I think it's what, 6 clips to take the bumper cover off? I know there will be holes there though.

What you need to do is remove the plate from the holder. Then you should see four pop-rivets holding the holder to the bumper cover. All you would have to do is drill the heads off of these four rivets, and it will come off the bumper cover. You need to get a drill bit just a size or two smaller than the rivet heads, and drill only enough of the rivet head to cause it to break off. Then just carefully punch the shanks through the cover and out the other side.

You will have to find some kind of color matched cap or someting to go in the holes when you are done because there will be four small holes in your bumper cover.

When I did my conversion I didn't want to put the plate holder on mine, but I soon learned other wise. Since you are in Texas get ready to be harrassed by the Cops and State Troops all the time. They told me three warnings then the tickets will follow. So I went ahead and put the plate holder on.

Hope this helps some,
Steven

I drove my '03 for a whole year and was never messed with at all by the police about it, even when I got pulled over for doing a lil speeding.
I guess I'll just leave it on there just to avoid any unnecessary events.

Yeah, I would leave it on there since it's there. You wouldn't want any holes in the bumper cover anyway.
