Soak it in water before you work with it. Latex gloves will be your friend too if you're sensitive to fiberglass. As you can tell it's pretty nasty stuff to work with. The soaking will help keep the fibers down and help it stretch around tight areas. Run the truck to let the heat dry it then spray it with that DEI stuff we talked about and it'll last a loooong time...if you decide to keep it on that is.

Since I own both styles a 99-02 and an 03- 07 Classic, I was taking a better look. The NNBS hood vents won't work on the 99-02 style hood. If you look at the hood on the 99-02 style they taper down toward the front were as the 03-07 classic are straight like the 07- Up NNBS. the top section is also closer in on the 99-02 style trucks and those vents would not look very proportionate to the rest of the design.

I would like to see a cowl induction on the 99-02 HD hood.

You could have him do the downward louver design like on the Fiberglass hood. I have the original hood off my truck...

Hate to bring Ford into the mix, but what about the vents on the hoods of the new Mustangs? From what I read, they're functional.

im interested in this too. i think i might do the camaro vents in my silverado cowl hood as i have forward headers and it gets pretty hot under there.

Found this and wanted to share as Im looking for a heat extraction setup from my engine

^^^^^^That's exactly what I thought about doing, putting the new camaro heat extractor on but I've never seen anyone do it. Im kinda tempted now but they are like $300

I also found some knock off vents that look like the mustang on ones on ebay for $70 and I was gonna try putting those in a junk hood.
