Heat Extraction Hood

Check out what showed up in the mail today!
Thanks to Random User for the free hook-up!!
Gonna try throwing this on this weekend when I swap out the rear end. I have enough I think to do the front two cross-overs. Having those insulated should help a whole bunch!!
Thanks again Richard!

Damn that got there quick...I just sent it out on Tuesday.
USPS Flat Rate box FTW!
Soak it in water before you work with it. Latex gloves will be your friend too if you're sensitive to fiberglass. As you can tell it's pretty nasty stuff to work with. The soaking will help keep the fibers down and help it stretch around tight areas. Run the truck to let the heat dry it then spray it with that DEI stuff we talked about and it'll last a loooong time...if you decide to keep it on that is.
Good luck...hope it works well for you.

Yeah, your probably right, I figure buy a HD hood for $350 and buy those vents for $150 and then give it to Ramaro, he'd probably ask $350 and then paint it $150.
Ramaro would have to put some kinda valley in the center like those NBS truck have. Or buy a NBS HD hood and see if they can't be adapted to fit the 00-02 body style. Not sure how big the difference is between the two of them.
I'm not sold on anything yet, first really want to see if that thicker wrap would work in keeping the heat down.

I would like to see a cowl induction on the 99-02 HD hood.
You could have him do the downward louver design like on the Fiberglass hood. I have the original hood off my truck...

^^^^^^That's exactly what I thought about doing, putting the new camaro heat extractor on but I've never seen anyone do it. Im kinda tempted now but they are like $300
I also found some knock off vents that look like the mustang on ones on ebay for $70 and I was gonna try putting those in a junk hood.
