Here's the hood off a shitty ford I used to own. I would love to have a nice 03-06 heat extractor hood for my truck. Roadster shop built a 2014 silverado and built a really nice one for it.

Found this on 6litereater's site..... Want this in a steel version for my 99, they also have a zl1 style they have a thread on for the nnbs... Havent really looked for the 03-07classic yet....

This is the one I have been wondering about, but I hear the fitment is garbage. I have fallen in love with that hood though. Thinking about finding a junkyard hood and trying my hand at my own 2.5-3" cowl, then grafting the ZL1 vents into it.
Really dont like fiberglass hoods. And I could care less about 10-15lbs.

I have a cowl "ram air style" hood on my truck but its steel if i could figure out how to put the zl1 vents in it and make it functional that would be what id want to do i think

I have the exact same hood wolftrk99, been trying to decide how to make it functional for months with out chopping it to pieces and it look like ****. Thought maybe instead of the plastic piece on their cut that hole out so that air can move through, not sure what that would do.

Ive thought about getting ram air setup off 4th gen camaro ss or firebird and seeing if i couldnt find a way to make that setup work somehow.... But would still need somesort of grille over the hole in the ram on the hood... Even dremeling out the holes in the fake vent on the hood

that would be interesting to see. need to post up pics if you ever do anything to this hood. If i cant make it functional then i am prob going to scrap it and get a HD hood.

Hardest part is finding the fbody airbox, to try without payin out the *** for it

As it sits now theba k of the hood is actually functional as a heat riser, since ive had the hood i havent had to worry about defrostingmy windshield when its rainingor whatever and on higway actually pushes water up the windshield

Even if the ZL1 hood was good it doesnt help the GMC guys
