Has anyone ever painted the black cover of the rear bumper? Does it look good from close? Or is it just a waste of money?

depends on color. and what you think.

pewter03gmc now i think has his painted....

Looks good with the pewter, I've seen white and it doesnt look so hot.

I'd say a rollpan... made mine look 10x better.

had mine painted by a body shop; kept the stock bumper just to be different and keep some weight in back.

Pewter, that is a nice looking truck. I have been thinkning about doing that to my bumper. Did you take it somewhere and have it done or did you do it yourself? I seiously think it cleans up the back of the truck.

well sorry i cant help you there,
I bought the rear bumper from Creedarado( BTW thanks again Creed )
He had already had it painted, and the front bumper was powder coated for free. (connections, and a favor owed

I wouldnt get the front bumper just painted, cause it's just going to flake off. Either find you a Tahoe front bumper or have your chrome stripped off of yours and then have it powder coated.

Hey thunder that looks great. Thats the look that I'm going for with my black truck. I had looked at the tahoe Z71 bumpers but they dont want to give them away. Do you think it would be cheaper to get them powder coated or save up for the tahoe bumpers. Also your grill looks good too. What did you do to it? Did you have it powder coated or what.

probably would be cheaper to have it powder coated. but you will need to find someone to strip the chrome off before it is powder coated.
the grill?????? well I painted it myself and im gonna have to have it redone. (damn 18 wheelers!!!!) but i'm probably just going to go by a black tahoe grill.
oh and thanks. I have been working on getting it painted all the same color.
it is slowly but surely getting there.
