I want to update the front end on my truck to get the extra slot in the front bumper and get rid of the grille guard(has two bolt through the bumper). So Im going to buy a whole new front bumper assembly off ebay to get painted, and I also need to get new headlights as the ones on there now are oxidized all to hell. So at that point it wouldnt be more than a grille shell I believe to swap over to a GMC unless the fenders are different. Maybe the hood would need ot be swapped if I went the GMC route? Either way its about the same work to go either route just cant decide what I like better.

HD Chevy, so your front fenders match the bedsides. I hate when they don't match, I can see it a mile away, and it always bugs me.

 

fenders are different since the headlights are different. so youd have to switch those out as well.

this is my 11 hd front end. not the best pics but its all i have. i just finished the swap this past week.

 

The front end on the gmc looks better IMO, but I agree with Roger, about the fenders not matching.

 

Plus, GMC stands for Gay Mans Chevy.....

 

How much do you have tied up in parts without paint on your swap Javi? That's looks really good.

hood-- got lucky, i found a guy on cl who wanted to swap his hd hood for a 1500 hood. i would say around 300 otherwise.
grille was 160 shipped on ebay. came factory painted already.
bumper was 400 from craigslist.
the hood moldings and front trim were expensive. had to buy them online and from the dealer. around 200 for all 3 hood pieces brand new.
