Default Flatbed NBS RCSB?

Hey Guys,

What do you think of this? And keep an open mind.

My 2004 Silverado just had a run in with a fence. The tailgate, tail light lenses and the driverside bed panel got hurt pretty bad.

It could be repaired by a body guy, which I am not. But I began to think, it would be pretty interesting to have a Retro style Flatbed-hot rod using the RCSB NBS. Something simple, no side posts or extra bars or cage, nothing. Just a simple custom made flatbed. Not to big, trying to stay away from the farm truck/utility bed image.

My truck before damage:

Ideas/inspirations:

You get the idea. The more I'm thinking about it, the more it's growing on me. Could be really interesting if done right.

What do you think, how do you feel on it?

Cheers ~Mykk

It'd have to be done just right... I don't think it can be pulled off well enough... the way the trucks look now with the bed is about as good as it can look.

But it'd be unique

Naw no way bud, thats way too hillbilly for a cool truck like yours.

Hell in your part of the country nice rust free beds are plentiful and usually bout 5-900$.

Your Truck is sweet, dont ruin it.

Now if ya had an old beater..... I still wouldnt!

Do it. Be different. Stand apart from a crowd, not in it. In the future u can always go back

I think it would take the truck factor out of it.. If it is done, it needs to have the rear narrowed, a deck that goes in between the wheels, with lil tiny tubs over them, or no tubs at all..

IMO, thats something that needs to stay in the past with the classic trucks you showed pics of.
