Talking Flames, man...FLAMES!

Well, I went out to a local custom paint guy saturday to see if he would be willing to do some paint and body work on the rear of my truck. He declined because he wasn't comfortable with the welding part but in turn he did something pretty awesome. Last year I went to his shop to see about getting some flames done on the front of my truck. I since decided against that but intended on flaming my intake cover. I never got around to going back over there to have him do it but he asked me if I had done anything with it yet since the primary color coat and I said no I haven't. He asked to see the cover and offered to do some custom flames on it for $50. I said sure and he took the cover off and we went into his shop. He quick laid some tape on the cover and asked if something like that would be cool and I agreed. So, we BS for awhile and agree on the colors and he tells me to call him Monday as it should be done then. I get home and about 6 hours later the phone rings. It's the guy from the paint shop calling to tell me the cover is done and that I could pick it up Sunday. I headed over there early this afternoon to pick it up and this is what was waiting for me.

I was pretty excited to see that. He used bright red and silver for the flames and then on the silver flames he laid some color shift paint on top of them and the same color shift paint behind the Vortec emblem. I think it turned out pretty cool. Sorry for the long winded thread!

Do you know the parts number for that intake cover? I don't have it on my truck (2000 silverado) and Id like to look into adding it if it will work? Thanks.

Looks great. I have really been thinking about painting the intake cover and I think you pushed me over the edge.
