Default Factory mirrors???

Allright, I have been seeing some trucks with mirrors that dont have the caps. Are those mirrors manual only??? If so has anyone ever tried to put the guts from the power mirrors in them?? I think these mirrors would look alot cleaner when they are painted. I would like that look but want my power mirrors too. I dont really want those small SS mirrors. THANKS!!!!

I think you can get the crome caps for the mirrors aftermarket. But if you can get a hold of a set with chrome either bolt them up or pop the chrome caps off.

You might be seeing the ones that have black textured caps. I can't recall ever seeing a mirror without caps of some type. Of course, I could just be talking out my ***

RatedZ, if you are interested I have a set of chrome cap power mirrors. Mail me if you are interested.

You might be talking about the base truck mirrors. My truck started life as an SL (believe it or not ) and my stock mirrors don't have caps. I'm willing to sell them if anyone is interested.

Yeah it must be the base models that have them. What mirrors did you replace them with?? Do you know if I can gut my factory power mirrors and stick them in the base model mirrors?? BTW if I cant find some locally how much do you want for them??

I got Street Scene mirrors. I'm not sure if you could gut them and swap them out for power or not. I guess anything's possible.

I'd take $50 shipped for them. PM me if you're interested.

I repleaced mine with the street scenes as well.

The stock base model mirrors are the same size, shape, mount everything, just no cap.
