Default engine covers

i have a buddy that is going to be trading in his 05 sss soon and he said that b4 he does i can get the 3 pc. cover, my question is this, i need to know how to remove it, and i think that i remember seeing on here that they require a special braket to install it on my 5.3 what tools do i need to go over to the truck with me seeing as he has NONE, thanks ahead of time.

The center just has one bolt in it that holds it to the top of the manifold, like your stock 5.3L cover. The sides have a couple bolts in each, I know there are 2 on the bottom that attach to the valve covers, and I think one at the top. I don't quite remember though. The sizes of the bolts don't come to me off hand either. As far as I know only the 99s need the bracket, but they also need the valve covers. Since you have an 03, your good, just get the three covers.
