Default Engine compartment touch up's

Well, if your not sick of me posting about it yet, I am getting ready to throw the blower in this weekend. I would like to do some cleaning in the engine bay before starting the install, as well as after. Looking for some good product recommendations as well as method recommendations on how to do the best job here.

Thanks

hot soapy water seriously. Purple power works well on the rubber hoses then coat em down with wd-40. Worked well on my truck but it is dirty as hell now

i use carb cleaner. let soak 3-5 mins then hose it off with mild pressure. then foaming tire shine all over the black stuff and wipe it down. looks new when done.

dont use simple green! i used it on my dads engine and it ate away at his alternator casing. dont tell him
