There are new design rear window latches to fix the 1/4 glass wind leak. The crackling noise is probably from the clip in screw retainer in the inside sheet metal. Should be able to tighten it or cover ir with anti-itch tape.

At Lexus we call the weatherstrip noise "rubber itch", our doors do it too. Our tech line recommends that we clean all of the silicone of the weatherstip and body with 3M general purpose adhesive remover, and treat the weatherstrip with Kent Dry-Lube. Seems like I have a 50/50 sucess rate with that. I may try the dialectric grease trick though...
