Color matching bumpers...where did yours?
#1
Hi guys, new to the site and new to trucks (Fbody guy for years.) I recently bought a 05 silverado RCSB 4wd. I plan to lower the rear by taking out the 2 inch blocks (need tech help with that also. anyone with the know how i would appreciate a Pm on how to do this) take off the "4X4" stickers and side molding, and color match the front and rear bumpers. My truck is currently black and i think completely blacked out with OEM SS wheels will look pretty good...
My question is do i take this to a shop to do it or is it something I can do at home with sandpaper and a rattle can. I have done many things with a rattle can, such as wheels, and been giving many compliments on my work. However this is a pretty big job, and one that will be seen by everyone all the time so i need to know if anyone had done it by themselves or if everyone takes it to a body shop to do?
thanks alot
cool site

edit...i know the title doesnt make sense...rushing out the door will do that!

ive been doing a,lot of color matching on my truck lately,, i always sand down things the take them to the body shop. like i sanded down my mirror caps and i got them painted, went and got chrome door handles at oreillys and took em and got em painted...im currently sanding down all the plastic on my front bumper to take it up to the body shop. a sanding tool really helps in this lol....but i would take it to a body shop man instead of spray painting the outside,, other than the bowtie i dont think i would skimp on painting the exterior of a truck....just my .02
