I just painted the stock grill on my 01 Silverado minus the center chrome bar. Cant say much for the wheels. I just ordered a set of 22x9.5 with +28 offset for my truck. I will let you know how they fit when I get them in a couple weeks. Not sure if it will help you though as they are for a pickup..

How low do you plan to go with the truck? What size tire are you planning on running. Those rims should be fine for the most part unless you're going low.

I've seen "ready for paint" aftermarket grilles on ebay, as well as chrome...

Im not going lower than I am now. I had 22s on it but didnt know the offset. I had 305 40 22 on it and the new wheels will have the same size tires. I like the meaty look with those tires on 22s. It rubbed a lil in the front when I turned all the way. But no biggie.

If you're not going any lower, that offset spec should be fine. Just a thought, 285/45's look great as well, and tend to be a little better in fending off rub. In my experience they ride a little better and track better as well.

A bit of scuffing on the grille shell, followed by a good adhesion promotor (and maybe a flex primer...consult with your paint pro), and you'll be set for painting. I had my old grille shell done and never had any issues.
