Default cluster and tranny temp

I was looking into getting a new cluster for my 99 Z71 I really would like to have the tranny temp gauge. I was wondering if the clusters are plug and play for 99 I know they are for later year models but have heard they are not for the 99's

Some 99s are, some aren't. I've heard you can check your VIN with the stealership and they can tell.

E-mail this guy. This is who I bought my Escalade cluster from. This is what his Ebay ad said.

This is a brand new 2002 Escalade with 0 miles and 0 hours on it. It will plug and play in any 1999-2002 Tahoe, Yukon, Yukon XL, Avalanche, Silverado, Sierra, 4X4's, full size trucks and SUV's with a digital odometer display. If you are planing to install this cluster in a 1999 truck. Please advise me before I ship.

In the 99's the airbag light will stay on, other than that everything else works.

If your interested, I can install one for half the price ($100 + the purchuse of the guage, which is about $45) using your existing cluster.
it would look like this.
