You can always go to an auto paint store and have them make you up a "matched" color (which may be better match than a normal can). Those places can even put them into a spray can if you need.

Dont know on the cost, can remember. Its been over 10 years since I last did that. And now I have my own compressor, so I'd just get the paint. 8 ounces should be enough.

I'd help you out, but I still haven't taken mine to the body shop yet. PM Yellowsierra, cause I know he had some left over from when he had his bed repaired. Good to see another yellow GMC on here. Got any pics? FWIW too, if you go to the bodyshop at the dealer they can pull out their books and find it for you. I did that the other day and was told just to make sure that my painter sprays down a white base before putting the yellow on to make it match. I think it was actually the same code as the Millenium Yellow on the Corvettes but with the white base.

Hope this helps you out some.

paint code is in the glove box. i believe mines 9260. its at the bottom of the list that shows the options. of course this wont work if you changed the color.

Won't work, that's why I told him about Yellowsierra. Mine is yellow too and they don't list the color code in the glove box. I already tried that route and that's why I ended up going to the dealership. The only color code is for the interior.

It is a factory color yes...but it was a special order through the dealerships. They had to order a minimum of 4 trucks in that color to get them. As for using the VIN that doesn't work either, for some reason no one can identify the color and you just have to have the paint matched.

If You Go To A Dealership They Can Pull Up Every Option You Have On The Truck And Print It Out. It Has To Have A Paint Code On It. That Yellow Aint The Same As The Corvettes Yellow?
