Default candy; grit used?

just wondering what grit sandpaper i need to get a nice smooth tail light for me to candy... and i wet sand correct?

1000 grit, you can wet sand if you want

I didnt wet sand, but comparing the candied tails to the '03 tails, I think they 03 tails look much better on my truck.
