Default Bringing back the shine in Aluminum rims.

So I got all 4 of these for $180. Pretty good find I think.

To bring these back to life what do you guys recommend? Will a good rubbing compound and lots of hours and patience with a high speed drill and pad work or will I need to do a light wet sanding on them first?

Ya everything I have read says it's not a quick process but that's all good. It will make it that much of a better deal when I am done and they look like brand new.

Those actually are not horrible, at least they are not pitted up. I would wet sand a small area with some 1500-2000 paper, buff it, see how it comes back. From the looks of them it should. If it doesn't start with a little ruffer paper, then work your way to the finest, then buff/polish. Most def will take time, but will look new when finished right. Best polish I have ever used was called out shine, but I can not find it any more. Next best was called over haul, again I have not been able to fine it. I have started using blue magic. It works, but not as good *** my previous. As for polishing, I can tell ya that by hand your not going to cut it. I would fab up something using a grinder with a buffing pad( from a bench grinder) on it or the power ball might help, but it just doesn't have enough rpms from a drill to get that chrome shine.
