Alot of people are fooled by polishes. Polish only works if the aluminum is dull. Not if it is pitted or oxidized. You need to bring the surface back to a supper smooth finish, then begin the polishing process. The smoother the surface the better, easier the shine.

some guys on FSC swear by this stuff. maybe worth a try.

havent seen that stuff around in a long time, i've used it and works great, i'm going to order one now to have around the garage.
