Bodyguard steel front bumper
Ordered this thing back on Nov 12, received and installed today. Love it! Fit and finish are great, customer service has been great too. Just a quick pic after installation, will get some better ones this coming weekend after I have a chance to wash the truck. It's a beast...shipping weight was 349 lbs, and minus packaging and plus the winch I bet I just added 400 lbs to the truck. Had to crank the torsion bars 2.5 turns to return it to stock height.
Winch is a Badlands 12k from Harbor Freight. I read a lot of good reviews on this thing (yes, I know most of their stuff is junk), and for the $350 price tag I couldn't pass it up. Time will tell how it does, but I won't use it often as I don't 4-wheel the truck. Just nice to have in the snowy mountains.
Oh, and here's why I replaced the bumper....bent the old one up when I was unloading a skid steer on my sloped street and it picked the back wheels of my truck up enough to roll forward and hit my dad's Denali (that's his butt in the picture, not mine ). His truck wasn't hurt, but I bent my bumper up pretty good. I almost dumped the skid steer off the side of the trailer when it started moving, lol. I'm lucky he was there, otherwise I would have rolled down the street and over a ledge about 20 ft down into a field

Never been a fan of grill guards but this one doesn't look half bad. The bumper reminds me of those absurdly expensive yet bad as hell armor bumpers or whatver the name is. How much did this guy set you back?
And Jesus that's heavy. If I had to guess I wouldn't put the stock bumper over 100lbs. Idk if I could bring myself to swapping even if I had the funds. I suppose the little extra weight isn't as significant on a dmax.

Are you thinking of Road Armor? That's a similar thing. This one was right around $2k after shipping.
I think the stock bumper was around 50-60 lbs with all of the brackets. Being a performance site, I know not a lot of people look for stuff like this but I'm not trying to make the D-max fast, so I'm not worried about the weight. I'm actually more worried about hitting a deer or something, and would like to be able to get myself unstuck from the snow if I ever end up in a snow bank or something.

I have heard good things about the Badlands winches as well. I was going to get one for my Toyota but ended up getting a Smittybuilt XRC10 which also has a pretty good performance/cost ratio.
I feel sorry for anything you hit with that thing.....it may have been expensive but you should never have to replace it thats for sure.
