Default Best bug and road grime remover

Well, I spent what felt like 37 hours cleaning my truck yesterday, and remembered how annoying bugs can be if you live in the south. Aside from the obvious heavy dosage of elbow grease, what cleaner do you guys use to get rid of bugs and road grime when you clean up your rides? I did a search and found an old thread about this from 2005, but figured there might be some newer products out by now. A buddy of mine recommended Simple Green. What do yall use?

Anyway, this is what she looks like now (cell phone pic):

She's my daily driver, and I'd like to use something to ease this cleaning process next time. This isn't a show truck, so keep that in mind. I use plain ole auto shampoo wash you can find at any auto parts store.

Ive heard goo gone works well. Used it to get the burnt tire chunks off of my truck a while back and it worked pretty nicely, didnt hurt the paint either.

Bugs B Gone, it's a Sea Foam product. They must have changed bottles because I bought it in a white bottle from Advanced Auto and now it's in an orange bottle. Anyway, it works great for bugs, environmentally friendly, water activated. Look it up, it gets great reviews. I use it all the time on my wifes white Mazda after highway trips. Spray on the bugs, let it sit but don't let it dry, wipe them off with a wet cloth and a little effort but definitely no scrubbing.

Ur gonna laugh but, dryer sheets. NOTHING will remove bugs like dryer sheets!!! Hardly any elbow grease needed. I live in south Florida and love bugs can take hours to get off with regular scrubbing or simple green. Dryer sheets done in 30 mins

Tarmanator works great. Use something formulated to get the job done. Don't get crazy with home remedies that can and will damage your paint.

Agreed. That's why I use Bugs B Gone for bugs only, which was the original question, bugs. Contains no petroleum, won't remove tar, won't remove your wax, safe on anything, made for bugs and... it work gooood! Just don't let it dry, work in sections.

Either Adams Waterless Wash, or All Purpose Cleaner. With that said if you use all purpose cleaner on it you will need to put wax over where you used it because it will strip the surface.
