just wondering if anyone has done it, and how it looked?? are the rims wide enough for a 255 tire??

Mine stock has 255/70/16s.

 

did it look ok?

 

I put 255's on my '97 chevy...I believe that it had the same width rims as the NBS, just 15" diam. Either way, it looked waaaaay better.

I am running 255/70/16 on mine.

 

My truck came from the factory with 255/70-16 tires. Good diameter and width for a stock 1/2 ton truck. When these tires wear out, I'm replacing them with a set of 275/60-16 Toyo Proxes S/T tires. You can check them out at:

I run 255 / 55 / 16 for the track. They look horrible on the SS but are alot lighter and shorter (29.1") than the stockers. The width is fine looking though.

 

I run 265/60/16 BFG Radial T/A's and looks good. I have them mounted on 16'' Mickey Thompson Classic II's. 28.5'' tall.
