Default Amber Corner Removal

I read online from someone that you can remove the amber corners out of the 05 body style silverados. What is the scoop on this? Can you? and if so how can you remove them and still keep them moisture proof?

Awesome, that does look like a pain, plus I can't have my truck out of commission for too long. How much does he charge?
