99-02 grill shell and polished billet insert ???
#1
Looking to install a chrome grill shell and polished billet insert in my 2001 Silverado. There are a number of "combos" available for about $300 including Street Scene, Stull and others. Anybody have any good things to say about these products? Or is the stuff in this price range junk? If so, what does a OEM Tahoe grill cost? Is there an "online" Chevy parts dept. with a big discount? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply TXsilverado. Was that price for a factory Tahoe grill? Hey, the rest of you 99-02 Silverado guys. Help me out. I'm still looking for an answer to my question about quality on a $300 grill combo. Hello, can anybody hear me?

My truck already had billet inserts when I got it so I don't know what brand they are. The chrome shell I got off of ebay and it fits ok. I know many haven't had good luck with the ebay shells and they fit like crap. OEM is going to fit and look the best. I know from the dealer they are expensive, close to $400 if I remember correctly.
I don't know about any of the companies selling combos, what brand are they?

I had the factory grey grille shell that i painted black, painted the bowtie a kameloen green and got a chrome insert with skulls and stuff (not my favorite, it was a gift). I'll sell it to ya for $100 plus shipping

I got my aftermarket "tahoe" grill off ebay. Cheap it was, but quality it was not. The fitment was okay but the chrome has faded a little after having it for a couple years. Next time im just going to spend a little more and buy an OEM grill.
